Tunbridge Wells RFC is celebrating another week of international rugby success, as two more members of the club proudly pull on their national colours.
Dan Tomanek – Poland Senior Squad
New senior squad signing and academy backs coach Dan Tomanek made his mark in international rugby this week, wearing the No.10 shirt for Poland in a friendly against Steaua Bucharesti. With his skill, vision, and leadership, Dan is set to be one to watch this season — both for his country and here at TWRFC. His international experience will be a fantastic addition to the squad and a valuable influence on our academy players.
Markus Slattery – Sweden U18
Straight from our own youth ranks, Markus Slattery earned his first cap for Sweden U18 earlier this week and has since taken the field for his second game. Having joined TWRFC at just six years old, Markus’ journey is a shining example of the club’s strong youth pathway and dedication to player development. He is proudly following in his father’s footsteps, who represented Scotland U18, by continuing the family’s international rugby legacy.
This news comes hot on the heels of Freddie Jones’ selection for the England U18 squad for the upcoming International Series in South Africa, as well as earning his first start against France. It’s a fantastic month for TWRFC players representing their countries.
From St Mark’s to the world stage, we’re proud to see our players achieving their dreams and inspiring the next generation.
