Kent Waterfall Cup - Sunday 16th November

Claerwyn Hughes20 Nov - 11:08

“Playing with pride, fighting for every inch.”

The Tunbridge Wells U12 girls delivered a day of rugby to be proud of at Medway RFC for the Kent Waterfall Cup, playing with heart, grit, and enormous team spirit across three fiercely contested matches.

From the very first whistle, the girls showed their intent. Their rucking was lightning-quick and determined, giving them clean ball and allowing the team to build strong, flowing passages of play. They fought for every metre with both their hearts and their bodies, working together as a cohesive unit.

The opening match set the tone for the day. Lending players to the opposition to ensure the match, Tunbridge Wells came out firing, their defence rock-solid and unyielding. The pressure they applied made life incredibly difficult for their opponents. Their hard work was rewarded with several well-constructed tries, with Mya leading the charge as the day’s top try-scorer. Their resilience and accuracy earned them deserved success in their first game.

The next two matches were tougher, with strong opposition forcing the girls to dig even deeper. Despite the results going the other way, the team did not let their heads drop for a moment. Their defence remained resilient, and their commitment never wavered. They continued to produce long, determined passages of play, showing real bravery at the breakdown and refusing to back down.

By the end of the day, the scorelines mattered far less than the performance itself. The girls demonstrated outstanding teamwork, spirit, and resilience. They played their hearts out, never gave up, and represented Tunbridge Wells RFC with pride.

A fantastic effort from every single player — and plenty to build on for the matches ahead.
